step 1. remove the cowl hood
step 2. place hood on a 60hp

you think im kidding, but seriously, 2 stroke outboards werent really meant for " hot rodding" what you got is what you got

Re: carb change on a 72 50hp ?

99% of the people on here will say no, and 1% say you can....

by rejetting a 2stroke outboard and nothing else, all you doing is giving it more gas, and unless you give it more air and more spark along with that more gas.. its actually gonna be worse than before

if it was really that simple to rejet and get more horsepower, every outboard in the world would have huge jets in the carbs...

that fuel has to go somewhere and do something when it gets there...right?

seriously though, that 50 hp you got, i have same one, just be glad its tsill running.. the darned thing is 32 years old... mine is 1972 and runs like a dream with 160+ lbs of compression on each cylinder.

rebuild your carbs, decarb your motor, replace your plugs , and run synthetic oil. thats about all y9ou can do to squeeze the last lil bits of effiency from that motor.

pretty good when you consider its only 44 cubic inches displacement.

m ikey

email me if you need more help with these motors. i have taken mine apart many, many times and can now do it blindfolded and naked, simotaniously(sp)

m ikey
