well i got my motor all rebuilt new mains and rod bearing new piston and rings 1979 omc chevy 3.0L inline 4 cylinder 140hp!!
so i went to pressure test everything i could and all was fine till i got to the exhaust!!
there is a heat tube in the intake / exhaust manifold about in the middle next to the head this tube goes from the top of the manifold to the bottom then a tube slides into the one and the threads onto the heat chock on the carb!
well when i pressure tested the exhaust part of the manifold air leaked out of that tube
my question is do i need to replace that heat tube ans reflair it to seal it in the manifold or do i have a cracked manifold??
But i do not think it is cracked more likely that tube rusted apart in the middle!!!!
any one have a better reason or fix???
at this point im betting on the tube as there is no air pressure leaks else were
thanks Bill
