carb cleaner

Would you use a carb cleaner for a 1994 30HP Evinrude and would any brand of cleaner work?

No, carb. cleaner contains no lubricant and will wash the oil out of the bearings in the crankcase.<br /><br />If you have carb. trouble, remove the carbs. to clean them.. You can use carb. cleaner to clean them in once they are off.

Thanks for the reply.<br /><br />I was kind of curious about carb cleaners and if they would work for outboards. The last thing I want to do is do more damage than good.
