I have a 1988 Johnson 6 hp and recently had a carb. problem that i fixed. One of the holes that the hinge pin goes through corroded, so i fixed it with JB Weld. Now, the motor runs great with no problems at all. My question is, should i buy a new carb. for $75?? I e-mailed a guy at Fairwinds Marina and he said that he could sell me a Brand new 1991 6hp carb. that would work in my motor (other than it looked at little different from the carb. i have) for $75. What should i do? Thanks!
