1972 225 sterndrive electric shift. Omc
Changing the carb. To the correct marine type.
I want to go to a electronic choke, is there a place to hook the hot wire to in the engine compartment rather than running the wire to the ignition switch.
Thanks, Rich

You have a ballast resistor that feeds your coil. Hook the wire to the input of the ballast resistor.

You have a ballast resistor that feeds the + side of the coil. You don't want to use that side of the resistor. You want to use the other side of it.

What is the problem? And just because you have the electric choke it will not solve a problem unless it is properly adjusted. Do that adjustment on a stone cold engine, not after it has warmed up.
