carb. float interchange from 9.9 to 5.5 evinrude

To the carb. rebuilders,<br /> While I was rebuilding the carb. on my 5.5 and<br />9.9 evinrudes, Inoticed that the floats on both<br />these carbs. are basically the same.<br /> Do any of you guys see any problem with inter-<br />changing these floats?<br /><br /> Ialso wanted to ask if any one knew where to<br />purchase a new float,due to the fact that these<br />floats are cork and heavily varnished.<br />Hope to hear from you soon'<br />charlie boom boom<br />memb.#20518

Charlie,<br /><br />All those parts (carb kits/floats) are available from John/Rude dealers.<br /><br />Get rid of both of those cork floats. They are troublesome.

I never compared the floats,so I can't help there.<br />New carb kits come with 'plastic' floats not cork.The older cork floats were coated in 'varnish' but it was clear varnish.What you don't want is the green varnish wich is adged gas.<br />DHP
