carb flooding

i installed a new Rochester carb. new fuel pump and filter on my 1987 baylinner with a 5.7ltr engine when I start the engine im getting fuel in the water on start up . I only pump the throttle once or twice then it starts. it like im getting too much fuel when I start engine. what should I do to stop this

If the rochester is the the proper carb for your engine, check your needle and seats and the float levels.
