Carb for 165hp L6?

I currently have a Big ol' Quadra jet 750cfm atop my motor.
I bought it like that.
It has since started to leak around the throttle bushings.
Although it runs o.k. at cruise and partial throttle, WOT causes a bog condition.
I would like to correct this by installing a better suited carb.
I am wondering out of the next 3 choices which would be best.

1. A Rochester 2gc 300cfm
2. A Holley 2300 300cfm
3. Holley 4 barrel 390 cfm

This is for a fishing boat and reliability and fuel economy are the main priorities.
If there are any other alternatives I would appreciate some feedback.

Hi Guys:

All the MCM inline sixes use the Rochester 2bbl carb. There is no advantage to installing any other make or model. Install it properly with marine parts, pump, filters etc and you should be good to go!

And consider inspecting the manifold so you can replace BEFORE it water logs your engine.

It's getting to that point.
I have owned the boat for about 4 years and i will give it a compression test and check/replace all cooling hoses and fuel lines.
I was looking for a spare engine that I could rebuild with all new intake and exhaust components, but I am having no luck.
What exactly will I be looking for in the manifold?
I am really trying not to replace things that I don't have to.
A leaky oversized carb is a very replaceable part.

I have decided to go with a 2gc.
Now does anyone know the general jet numbers or metering rods used on a 250ci merc?
I believe the one I am getting is actually jetted for a 3.0L 4 cylinder.
I would assume it is jetted differently.
The price I am getting for this carb is very low so I figured swapping the jets etc. would be cost effective.
Can anyone help me out on a starting point for jets etc?
Or give me confirmation of the stock jetting of either carb setup?

^ yeah I found that one, but I wasn't sure on the quality? plus the core charge sucks!!
Still that is the lowest price unless I want to rebuild one myself, Thank you.

Re: Carb for 165hp L6?

Just ordered a remanufactured 2GC specifically for 250ci 165hp inline 6.
That was the easiest way.
