It rained today and I decided to tear down the carb on my '98 3.0L mercarb. Manual #26 calls for removing the "accelerator pump return spring" from pump well during disassembly. I found no such spring in my carb. Mine is the pump with the 45 degree bend in the end and there is a spring on the accelerator pump assembly itself, but no return spring. I assume this part should this part be there, and I will need to replace it to get the thing running properly. Is there a part I can use to replace it without buying an accelerator pump kit?
