Got a 21" Four Winns 214 project boat I'm working on and it had no outdrive and a blown 5.0 so I' m putting a 5.7 in it. I'm using a truck engine with the marine parts from the 5.0 as many of you have suggested, however I need a carb. The old engine had none so I have nothing to rebuild or a reference point. Any suggestions on aftermarket carb's you are happy with. Like to hear your suggestions.

Also I will be putting a Volvo SX outdrive on as it had before, single or dual prop? Is there a big difference and is it worth all the extra money?

Thanks in advance for the help and advice

Re: carb info

The #1409 Edelbrock marine carb works well if you have a 4BBl manifold.

Sorry, the manifold is for a 2bl carb. Boat is a 1999 Four Winns 214. Engine is out of a 1999 Chev 1500 (EFI)

Ayuh,... Ok,... Do you boat in Salt, or Freshwater,..??
Standard raw water cooling,..??

If you want the power of a 4bbl. carb, go with the Edlebrock like ZB says...
You'll need a Vortec manifold,....
Aluminum will work if you boat in Freshwater, or if you have a Closed cooling system...
Otherwise, ya need a cast Iron manifold...

Re: carb info

I'm in salt water here in the Gulf (may be boating in crude oil!). Was tring to keep expenses down so I was going to use the old intake. Any recommendations for aftermarket 2bl marine carbs? Thanks for your patience
