carb issue with cleaning

1983 175 evin ,
im putting my new powerhead back on carbs have been sitting 6 months inside drained ,
if i soak them again will it hert the lead shot they were clear when i put them up but cant afford to run lean i want to soak them again with core plugs and jets out .but dont want to mess up my lead shot.will use kits minus floats .
any suggestions, worried about lead shot ,

Won't hurt to soak 'em. My experience with keeping drained carbs in the garage for a few months pending other repairs is, no problems.
