I have an 82-84 150 black max; recently got the motor running and once I put it on the water the motor boggs down when accelerating over 5 mph. I've cleaned the carbs twice and I've been told to adjust the fuel/air mixture. But before I do that I want to make sure this is the issue. In the water I took the cover off and played with motor a little and realized that even presing on the throttle arm in neutral it would bog down and die, but here is where it gets tricky, if I lift the high throttle lever at the controls it revs up just fine. So why would it rev fine there but not in gear or even in neutral at the throttle arm at the carbs?
