1977 johnson 115 outboard - dual carbs

do i have adjustable jets?
i have a shop manuel, but it shows upper and lower jet screws, i have one per side.
so the manuel is of no use to me on this problem...yes i don't know what i'm doing, the rebuild was easy, getting her to run is the hard part :)
i see posts about jets adjustment, and the problems ppl say they are having and when i have had mine in the water i'm having those exact problems too... I.E. hard starting...spit and die at idle... could this be in my carbs? both are recently (this week) rebuilt with new everything i could replace. i remember taking the jets out and needing to "pop" them out. adjustments sound to me like they would have come out much easier...
please help the newbie

Re: carb jets

Your carbs have fixed jets. Theres an orfice jet behind the screw on the side of eah carb. Inside behind that screw, or plug, theres a removable jet for the idle circuit. Just like the hi speed jet in the bowl.

Re: carb jets

so your saying it wouldn't work only if it was stopped up then?
so my problem of not idling in water must lie somewhere else in the motor
THANKS
