I ordered a carb kit, Mallory Carb Kit 9-37302, for my outboard from iboats.com. In the photo of the parts included it shows at leat one part that looks brass. I kind of expected there to be most of, if not all, of the brass parts inside the carb. The needle, needle seat, jets, etc. The box I received only has two metal parts, the pin the float hinges on. Shouldn;t there be more to a carb rebuild kit as the brass parts are normally what corrode, break down, etc.

Thanks,

Normally, Carb kits come with just gaskets, gaskets and inlet needle and seat, or both. You can buy jets, floats and other parts seperately, but it is unusual to need to replace them.

In you case, it sounds like Mallory thinks the float pivot is prone to wear out. If you need inlet needles and seats, you will need to order them sep.erately

Thanks. I was just called and saw that needles and seats are listed under a different heading on their web site. Bad thing is, they don't list any for my motor. Nor do they list the trigger assy. I may have to do some scrounging around...

Thanks Again

Mallory doesn't make a lot of parts for outboards, it would seem. You can get on the crowleymarine.com site and look up the OEM part number for the trigger and then do a google search on it. It should turn up some sources for it. CDI makes excellent aftermarket OB electronics. Perhaps they make a trigger for your application.
