I have a '02 90 triple and have Walbro (I guess) WVE carbs. Engine S/N is OT525XXX (last 3 numbers omitted for security). I want a full kit with all gaskets and needle valve and if a float is part of it great. Iboats doesn't include the needle nor the float. I can't find any online.

Help appreciated.

Mercury Parts, 75/90 H.P. 65 JET (3 CYLINDER)

Scroll down to the bottom of the page under Carburetor and you will see the picture for the kit. Click on it and click on it again when it enlarges and you will get a good sized view of all the parts included. You will also see the float, item 21.

Not an answer to the question but I'm interested in what somebody with nefarious intent could do if they knew your full engine serial number?

Yeah I kinda chuckled when I saw that too. Thing is that to get anything usable off that SN it has to be complete. One number off the end will be a completely different motor family by Mercury's system. Theres nothing that anyone could do that would give anyone grief by posting a complete SN unless its a stolen motor. Its not a social security number or anything all that traceable like a guns serial number.

Many carbs. can be removed and cleaned without having to have a carb. kit. You just have to be careful disassembling the parts and pay close attention to the gaskets.

With a can of carb. cleaner @ $4, you might need nothing else.

Last time I removed 2 carbs. from a V-4 Yamaha, I completely disassembled them, put them back together and had them on the boat in just over 1 hr. I had little time and effort invested in the job.

It may be worth a try.

Thought it was the carbs turned out to be ethenol swollen lines 3/4 from the tank with a 3/4 bulb . took the 6 gal mix tank put 5/16th hose from tank to primer bulb and presto chango quick start constant run no need for pumping and now to tear out the internal tak check pick up and convert to 5 /1
6 and never use ethenol again JMO

I don't know. Just like when you see pics of things where the license plate is exposed it is clouded over. Just something less to worry about. So many crooks out there you never know what one will try.

My Mac won't open the carb subset on the Crowley home page.

Well sir, now that you have tuned in to help me (thank you). I read in the manual about pre-load and cracking and missing leafs and a max of .020 separation of a reed from the block. Are these potential problems visible to the untrained eye?

If I have a sneeze and see exhaust smoke come out from under the flywheel does that mean that the whole block intake area was filled with smoke too as was the big puff out the prop? Additionally did the smoke get out via the upper seal on the crankshaft? Got any ideas as to what could go wrong that could cause this kind of explosion?

On the carb float, in making the measurement, if you look from the side do you line up the lowest part of the float....assume the part nearest the tab for the measurement? The book said that the float was tapered. I'll know more about it when I get the carbs off.

Thanks,
Mark

I have a 2B2 on top of the carb and WME on the side with the numbers 3301-824854C1 or 824354; can't be sure it's an 8 or a 3 below. Should I be after a 1395-824854 carb kit rather than a 8236354?

I googled this number as I googled the number you gave me and got no reply. The google reply on the number you gave me said 1994 Mariner whereas mine is a 2002 Merc 90 hp. Don't know if that matters or not. You do this for a living, I don't. Also, I don't know how much difference there is in the gasket set anyway as all these carbs in my book appear to be using similar castings.

Thanks,
Mark
