I have ordered a carb kit for my 1987 yammy 50 ESJD. symptoms leading to that decision are, idle sneezing, and oil slick around motor. What concerns me is after re-installing carbs. how do i know that the needle valves are adjusted correctly? To lean? to rich? is it trial and error?

Re: carb. kit tips

hello
you can tell by following the service manual procedure. some yammis use a non adjustable needle/float assy. carefully record all air/fuel mix settings and float settings before disasembly but follow the manual for reassembly.
good luck and keep posting
PS rebuild or relace the fuel pump as well.
