I'm trying to set the timing my 87 3.0 mercruiser and the timing light shows it to be about90 degrees off. The mark is at 9 o'clock when it should be aT 2 oclock. THe closer I get it to where it should be the worse it runs. It also seems like the carb. is loading up. I'm putting the light on # 1 cylinder. Any ideas? I've made sure the #1 tdc is correct.
