Recently bought a 94 sea rayder that sat used for a long time..

After some work the boat started but no rpm. I took the carbs off, clean them, needle valves and floats move freely now.

I put it back together and it started but with high rpm, I shut it down and started it again and same thing high RPM and the lower carb bowl is leaking bad.

I bought a new gasket and tried to start it, NOTHING..

Bought new plugs, just cranks and cranks.. I HAVE spark.

Bottom Carb leaks like crazy when trying to start..

Please help

thanks

Re: Carb or Fuel pump?

Def a carb problem. Fuel pumps have been known to go bad, but if you're getting gas to the carb, then it's not the pump. BTW, it's supposed to idle high out of the water. There's no resistance against the impeller, so it will idle in the 3500 RPM range. Make sure you have water running to it though! Start the engine first, turn on water, turn off water, shut off engine.

Re: Carb or Fuel pump?

Found the bowl flange was cracked on the bottom carb. There was no fuel in the top carb, so I think it was sucking air in and couldn't pump gas to the top and was flooding the bottom.

I JB welded it for now, but does anyone have a carb for sale? CARBURETOR-Bottom 1300-826654 WB-124A

Thanks
