does anyway know where I can find rebuilt carbs for my 1997 Honda 4 stroke 90 hp? I replaced the gaskets and I guess now I either buy new ones which not really wanting to do or rebuild them. The problem is that darn ethanol in the gas down here in Florida has gotten in my motor and ruined my carb. i replaced the gasket after soaking the carbs in solution for 2 days hoping that would remove all the gunk in them went to fire the motor and no luck. I am guessing I did not get all the gunk out and reclogged the carbs. so this is where I am at with this need help badly...and with todays economy not willing to spend to much on buying new ones.....

Re: Carb problem

Did you actually disassemble the carbs before you soaked the carbs in cleaner?
I bought a Sonic cleaner from Harbour Freight and use it to clean carbs. Does a great job!

Re: Carb problem

not sure about florida but where i live in east tn you can either buy the premixed at the marinas minus the ethanol and there are a few gas stations close to the lakes that sell 100% gas no ethanol. maybe try that in the future, good luck.

Re: Carb problem

If you are talking about dissemling the carbs down to evry screw and piece no I din't I just broke it down to basic including floats and installed new gaskets...I heard that a product call seafoam is suppose to be good any suggestion on that item.

as for gas places in florida it is hard to find gas without ethanol

Re: Carb problem

The carbs have to be broken down to every jet and screw in order for the clening to be effective. The carbs need to be re syncronized after rebuld.
Seafoam is a good product and Walmart carries it.
