i got a 1988 carver santego with twin 4.3 ltr. with 4 barrel carbs. rebuilt port side carb last year. took a spin last week and notices a noise, one u would get from a bad gasket between the intake and the carb. i got a new gasket, but it was twice as thick as the old one. i put it on and it seemed to be fine after a test run. today i started the port side, and it seemed to bog down and stall. it would start up with some pumping of the throttle, run for 10 seconds and die. would the thickness of the gasket cause something like this? it ran fine the day before with it. would a bad distributor cap cause this too, cause i took it off and it didnt look that great. any guesses? thanks!
