I bought a 18 ft pontoon boat and the last time it was ran was in 2005, it has a 2001 mercury 40hp 2 stroke. I changed the gas out and the lines and primer bulb and it will crank up and run for about 6 seconds and then die. Does the carb need cleaned or rebuilt ? how hard is it and is there some cleaner i can get for it ?
