Is it ok to soak the plastic float bowl in carb cleaner? Thinking it might melt it. 1989 johnson 90 HP

Spray it clean with carb cleaner and wash with water, some harsh carb dunk's will eat the carb plastic parts, I generally keep the plastic bits out of the harsh stuff.
