I have a '91 120 Force outboard. I had a few problemsgetting it started for the first time this year. When I ran it with fluchers on it idlesd fine, when I put it in the water it idled fine for the first 10 seconds. Then the idle dropped to a very low idle for about 20 seconds and the engine shut off. I took it to a mechanic and was told that my lower carb was "puking" out gas. I pulled both carbs to clean and rebuild. Floats and every thing looks fine except the needle valve on the bottom carb kept sticking. Would that cause the carb to expell so much gas? Would that also be the problem with the engine losing idle and then dying?
The carbs do need a link and sync but are fairly close to spec per Seloc manual.
Thanks.
