Maybe someone can help and thankyou for your help in advance ... When i first start boat it starts normal and it idles around 800 fine, and i leave the dock and run out 30 min i can shut down and restart right away if i want but if i let sit for 10 min or longer it takes like maybe 40sec dont no presice but it should just crank over and run lol ,so i am thinking its the choke and going to check that out but wanted to see what you guys thought.

The motor is a 1990 mercruiser with rochester 2 barrel carb alfa 1 outdrive..
Just put head gaskets in 2 weeks ago and rebuilt the carb..

OTHER THEN MY STARTING PROBLEM WHEN IM OUT IN THE WATER THE BOAT RUNS GREAT

Re: Carb Question

Choke adjustment sounds like a good start.

Re: Carb Question

Ayuh,... It's either the Choke, or possibly Carb Adjustments done in the rebuild...
I'd start with the Choke...

Re: Carb Question

Just for fun give it one pump of the throttle then try to start it.
I had one that i adjusted on for days after a rebuild and that was the only way it would start when warm.
I agree the choke should be checked too.

Re: Carb Question

If your choke does not fix the problem have your carb checked to see if your float is stuck, soaked(heavy), or the plugs on the bottom of your float bowl are leaking.
