I opened up the my fastwin engine today, only to find that the open parts of the carb seem comlpletely clean!

I know that the last time it was run, they switched it over to a fuel injection system, and it hasnt been used since.

Is there a different carburetor for fuel injection systems than pressurized fuel tanks? What i want to know is whether i should still take the carb completely apart still.

Also, i was wondering if regular rubber tubing at an auto shop would work to replace broken tubing?

Re: Carb questions

Hi, Ferg.

Fuel injection and carburetors are mutually exclusive. . . you can have one or the other, but not both.

If you mean oil injection you need to explain further. What engine do you have? What sort of modification was done, by whom? Fasttwins are not adaptable to fuel or oil injection, except by custom engineering.

You have again left a lot of important information in a previous post, or posts.

Please resurrect the history of your problems so we have an idea what you are talking about.

Re: Carb questions

Sorry about that.

The eningine is a 1958 Evinrude Fastwin 18 hp motor.

The last time it was taken out, it was changed from the dual fuel line system to the single fuel line( going to the gas tank).
