Carb Rebuild & Fuel Filter

I am getting ready to rebuild the carb on my 95 Johnson 28HP. Somewhere online I had found step by step photos on rebuilding a carb. Does anyone happen to know that link? I was thinking I found it on here. I have seen tashasdaddy's thread, but this was a different one.

Also, I want to add an inline fuel filter. Where in the fuel line should it be? Before or after the primer bulb? I was thinking just before the line connects to the engine, but wasn't sure if it would matter where it was placed.

after bulb, before fuel pump. your motor has a filter screen under the round part of the fuel pump.

i have the OMC service manual for my 1986 28hp and the pictures in it are a big help but not a true step by step. all the specs but it assumes the mechanic is basically familar with carburators.

The thread you are looking for that contains the step by step rebuild of the fuel pump is a sticky (first thread) in the Johnson/Evinrude forum. I don't recall seeing a step by step thread for rebuilding a carb, but I am sure there is a lot of information available in these forums. Start your own thread if you can't find what you are looking for.
