Carb rebuild on 40hp tips needed

My 87 40hp will not idle for more than a minute, so I want to rebuild the carb. I have carb kit number 9-37104. It has no instructions and am wondering what the float is to be set at with the gauge in the kit. Any place to find instructions or advice would be great thanks

You'll find the best instructions you'll ever want in an OEM factory service manual. This manual will include any info you will need in the future also on the rest of the mtr.
