Carb rebuild question 1976 Johnson 75hp

The instructions that came with my carb kit said to snug up the low speed orifice (jet) then back it out one full turn. It says nothing about setting the high speed orifice (jet). My service manual doesn't say anything about this. Any ideas?
Also, when you replace the plugs, do you seal them with anything on the outside of the carb?

Thanks,
Dean

That backing out the jet business pertains only to the long adjustable threaded needle valves, NOT to orifices.

Tighten the orifices securely so that they seat and do not move. Do not back those orifices out any distance at all.

Normally the core plugs do not requirea any sealer, BUT you can do so with a substance called Gasolia (sp?) which is a red substance especially made for such purposes.

The high speed jet is fixed and non-adjustable.
I personally don't seal up the metal welch plugs, but some guys do. A little Loctite probably wouldn't hurt until it's time to take them out again.
