Doing a complete tear down and rebuild. The kit I purchased FK10202 contains 2 cap plugs, part #12, FK10152

WE-13.jpg According to the carb parts list, 4 of part 12 are required, but only 2 are shown on the attacked parts diagram. I have indicated where the cap plugs are on my carb. My question is, where do the other two plugs go, and is it necessary to remove and replace them.

Re: Carb rebuild question

The hole you show as no plug is a vent and indeed does not get plugged. The kit is made for multiple carbs and depending upon how the passages needed to be drilled, up to four plugs MAY be necessary. These brass plugs are always on the outside of the casting and if you don't see them, your carb does not need them.

Before you go about removing these plugs, are you certain your carb needs a complete rebuild? Unless the carb was trash and not usable, I have found that a good cleaning and possibly an inlet needle and seat are all that is usually necessary.
