Carb rebuild

When I took the carb off my AQ125a I found a restricter plate. Can anyone tell me whats up with it and could anything be gained buy not putting it back on

Are you sure its just not an adapter plate?
Are the holes smaller than the bore in the carb?
Never heard of that before..
Don is the Volvo pro....good question for him..

Im not familiar with your set up but I know Mercruiser put carb spacers on to keep the intake manifold heat off the carb. So I would imagine it is a spacer not a restrictor plate. UNless your are running it at Talladega!!!!!!!

It is thickness of the gasket and sets between 2 gaskets spacer.jpg The holes on the carb and the manifold are round

If the motor was used in a NASCAR sanctioned race, it could explain the restricter plate:D
