carb rebuild

I am cleaning carbs on 1980 140HP Johnson V4, OMC manual says to remove link rod that connects the to cabs together, but nothing else. How do you do this without breaking plastic bushings or not adjusting screws.

Take a screw driver and just pop the linkage out of the keeper.

the top carb has the keeper, hope it does not break

You need to use extreme force.
