Carb Rebuilding on 2002 150hp Johnson- HELP!

I am going to rebuild my carbs in my engine. Is it absolutely necessary to replace the floats in the carb? I would like to just get the Sierra or Mallory rebuilding kits without the floats as they are a $10 difference from the BRP part that includes the float. Can anyone recommend either of these? Thanks.

I got my sierra kits here on iBoats, great price and service.
It took longer to get the carbs off than to rebuild them.
