Carb. Running Lean?

I have a 1990 four Winns freedom with a 4.3 V6 cobra engine with a Holly 2 barrel carb. When I give it full throttle, the engine hesitates for about 2-3 seconds then accelerates. I had someone else operate the throttle and I held the choke shut, the motor did not hesitate! Is there an adjustment for the amount of gas that the carb. shoots from the upper jets down on to the butterfly??

P.S. The motor was warm when I was doing all of my experimenting.

Re: Carb. Running Lean?

Are you getting a good steady stream of fuel from the accelerator pump when cracking open the throttle? Might be time for a carb job.

Best check the timing as well. Retarded timing can also cause hesitation..... :)
