Carb troubles?

Past summer I finally figured out I had a blown head gasket on Force 150hp. In the process I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs, new fuel lines and bulb, rebuilt both fuel pumps, new plugs. Ran great last summer a couple times. Then have had it out this summer 4-5 times and it was running great. Had to set the idle screw up a little, but ran great after that. Now this past weekend, had been running for an hour or so. Was idling into a marina to get ice, it was a no wake zone for a long way, whiles idling in it died. It started dying and almost never got it started back. It would start right up then die. I would have to throw it in gear as it was starting to get it going. Got it back out on the lake, it would run fine for awhile, then do the dying thing again off and on. Sometimes it would completely bog down when throwing the throttle to it. Well, put it on the trailer. changed out the clear fuel filter (it had gunk in it), cleaned out both screens of the fuel pumps. Took it out the next morning and it ran fine for about an hour, then started doing it again. Wondering if i may have trash in a carb, or possibly fuel pump problems, or something else?? Also, this thing is killing on fuel comsumption? Any suggestions on that, other than getting rid of it? LOL thanks for any help!

Sounds like trash in the carb to me. You found trash in the filter, some lil stuff may have clogged up a jet. I'd check the carbs before going out again.

Always add the year and model#
The early 150's are a lot different than the later models.

First thing do a compression and spark test.
Post the results
Second thing is install 2 filters.
One being a water separating filter.
The second being a fine particle filter.
Fram G2 G3 G12 one of these should fit.
Install it before the first fuel pump.
This will stop 99.9% of he gunk heading to the carbs/pumps.

Test the over heat buzzer.
Key on: ground the orange lead against the block, should make the horn sound off.
I sounds like it might be getting hot??
