Carbon Monoxide at helm

1995 Bayliner 2859: This is a new boat for us and we have two CO detectors on board. One just chirps, and the second actually records the CO levels in p.p.m. We are getting over 150 p.p.m. when running at 3000 rpm and the gas is intermittent. We have had levels over 300 p.p.m. with the detector sitting on the dash. Obviously the source is the engine. I have sprayed soapy solutions around manifolds and seals and cannot find a leak. Suggestions?

Either your rubber exhaust tubes or exterior of boat. Where does your exhaust exit?

If your boat is like the one in the pic, then its coming from the design of the boat. The wheel house is creating a low pressure area. This area causes fumes to be sucked back in toward the helm. The boat needs some windows in the front to allow more air to pass thru reducing the low pressure area
