Thanks Hooty-- I hope that it makes a difference, I went to a step hotter plug (actuall 2 steps) to eliminate the fowling. It ran great, it just worried me that I might have too high of heat upon detination. I kept checking cyl. head temps at the spark plugs with a non-contact (infared) thermometer and it was running no hotter than 120-<br />However, as the air temp changes, so does air density and that can lead to a melt down or at least a leaner burn. What do you think???

Perhaps I lost your initial thread. But at any rate this may be of help for you.<br /><br />You may generally not see the external head temps go up before piston meltdown.<br /><br />You may see very small metallic spheres on the isulator, electrode, or ground areas when looking at the working end of the plug very closely.
