I have a 1974 20 ft Reinell with a 305 OMC 225hp drivetrain!! It currently has a Rochester Quadrajet on it. I dont think it has ever been rebuilt since 1974. It has been sitting for about 3 years now. I just went and took it out on the lake. It doesnt seem to stumble or anything, but I am just wondering if I could get a little more performance out of something else. My buddy has a Holley Carb on his 85 Suburban (350 motor) that he says I can have. Which carb would be better suited for my boat!! I need a little more power!! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

since the Rochester has worked all these years
without ever being rebuilt, why change?
give specific info about rpms, prop, hull etc.
and maybe the guys here can tweak the set-up 4 u.
if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
my .02,
M.Y.

elknuts- :( if your motor is in a closed motor well DO NOT USE a standard automotive carb, marine carbs have a closed vent system, automotive carbs dont fumes can build up in your motor well and can& will explode  there of plenty of marine carbs ava, for your motor though aftermarket supplers etc. holleys and others Be safe not sorry ;)
