The 77 definately has choke plates. The 86 probably uses a primer instead.

i would check with a qualified mechanic i dont think the jets in the carbs on the 150 would give the 175 enough fuel to run right.

The carbs will work just fine as is. No rejetting needed. You don't need to change the intake manifold. Just replace the choke solenoid with a primer solenoid. Great upgrade!

Replaced the carbs from the 1986 xp150 to the 1977 175 ran great had to do a little thinking on fuel hose routing and choke. Used the primer choke.
Thanks

Glad it worked! That's a common upgrade these days.

The 86 150 carbs are bigger than the 77 175. Correct. The orfice calls for
58c on the 77, but with the 1/16'' bigger carbs which had 61c orfice will this be ok?? i figured my air, more fuel will be need plus will run a tad bit rich. Better than lean.

The carbs are calibrated for the amount of air flowing thru them. Jets are only part of the calibration. For stock rpm the original jets will be fine.
