On oldmercs.com, I found a new item that they have in stock. They are the round screens, or cylindrical, that go on top of the carbs where the fuel lines go into the carbs. My question is this. Are these an item that routinely needs to be cleaned/replaced? My motor is a 69' and is it as easy as it appears to change these? It looks like you have to remove a single screw at the top of the cover that covers the screen. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Carburator screens

What you're refering to is a filter. If you don't run any other filter in the fuel system it's worth pulling them out and cleaning them every so often. And yes it is as easy as it looks to get them out.

Chris...........
