I have a 1965 9.8 hp Mercury outboard. motor. Were can I get the choke spring that goes from the choke shutter to the lever. . I looked on the iboats .com web site it said N.A for the spring.

is it normal for there to be a small gap between the choke shutter and the carburetor , when the shutter is closed ? It is .035 of a inch. Would that cause the motor to be hard to start.

I could put a small washer behind the bolt to get it to close against the throat of the carburetor if it needs to close tight.

Unless the choke closes fully it is not choking fully.
