Could someone please tell me how far the butterfly valve on the carb should open up? Should it open all the way? Mine is only about 1/4 inch at wot. Thanks

Butterfly should be perfectly horizontal at WOT. Anything less and you are not running at full throttle.

Thanks, I adjusted my throttle rod all the way out, and adjusted the eccentric cam all the way out and it still would not open all the way, so I removed the old roller from the eccentric cam and installed a neoprene one that is a little larger.

You can't play with a Force linkage with out ensuring all the other components are in alignment. You need to open the Clymer book and start with the part about adjusting the throttle cable first and go from there. Your final check is going to be a timing check to see where the timing when to while you were playing with all the other stuff.

After that is done, you can put it in the water and tied it up to the dock and set the idle and adjust the idle mixture.

Then you can go out an enjoy your boat knowing that it is set up properly and wont leave you stuck in the middle of the bay.
