Hi.
I am looking for a procedure that a driveway mechanic can use to balance multi-carburetor systems.
Thanks.

on muti cylinder motorcycles I used to use 4 vacuum gauges to synchronize them. I tested a case of them to find 4 that matched..,.I also had to pinch the hoses so that they wouldn't bounce so much, (a snubber) other wise they would not last long and would be hard to read.

What motor? Do the carbs have vacuum ports or any way to do a carb balance?

Generally outboards do not get the carbs balanced really not a needed procedure. It will probably cause you more problems than it is worth and I have never seen a factory manual that said it needed to be done.

But their is a specific procedure for adjusting each individual carb provided mixtures are adjustable.

is this tha xr6?.. if so ya can't do anything but linkage first then fine tune tha idle circuit of each carb (only "adjustment" there).. usually 1 1/4 out turn will get ya in tha ball park... oem manual?

If the carbs don't have the typical vacuum ports, I am not sure you can do an adjustment with vacuum gages like you do with motorcycles. However, if there is no owner's manual or shop manual procedures, I would start with one carb and do the tach RPM setup. And then the next one and so on and even repeat that setup procedure for the optimum setup. But that is just my $0.02 cents worth. :noidea:
