I am a car guy and have never heard of this kind of carburetor idle adjustment. What is 1 turn starboard ? turn port off seat?
Thanks

What carb are we talking about, and where did those instructions come from?

Re: carburetor idle adjustment

It is a Holley 2bbl 500 cfm on my 3.0 in my 91 Fourwinds 170. Read it in the SELOC OMC 86 to 98 repair manual. I have no clue what they are talking about unless starboard idle side is adjusted 1 turn and then adjust the port side 1/2. but that does not make any since.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Why adjust?

Is the engine idle high or low?

How is the engine running?

I used to love a Carter AFB in the morning, smelled like....victory

I used to blow Thur a Quadrajet one two three, wheeeeee

But those holly carbs always broke my nuts.

Re: carburetor idle adjustment

I believe he is talking about idle mixture adjustment screws.
Leave it to the idiots at Seloc to word it that way in the book.

What they are saying is screw the mixture screw in until lightly seated then back them out a half of turn.
