I am in the process of rebulding the Carburetors on my 1981 75 HP Evinrude everything went well on number one and number two carburetors but when I was about to remove the high speed orfice on number three carburetor I discovered that someone before me had tried to remove the orfice and damaged the slot the tool goes into to unscrew the orfice. I tried very carefully to remove the orfice but was not able too because of the damage that had been done before me. I cleaned and checked the orfice as best as I could everything looks good except for the afore mentioned damage to the slot, the opening in the orfice is good. Can I still use this orfice or will I have to replace it? If I have to replace it I will have to replace the float bowl too because the orfice can not be removed.

Re: Carburetor

As long as the center portion of the orifice hasn't been damaged, use it with confidence.

Re: Carburetor

The opening in the orfice is not damaged or obstructed
Thanks for your advice
