Carpet Binding

The thread about carpet adhesive made me wonder. Has anyone tried or had luck with cutting carpet to fit then having the edges bound?<br /><br />Like an area rug or similar, enaling the carpet to be removed for cleaning, storage, floor reapirs or whatever?

Tex,<br /><br />I know alot of boat in our yacht club, have snap in carpet, it is all bound at the edges. I would guess that most carpet places could do it for you, but I do not know if the binding material, would match or how it would stand up to marine use.

Thats a good point, maybe Ill poke arround on one of the upholstery boards or somthing and see what i find
