Carpet installation question, dealing with screws under the carpet

I'm thinking about replacing the carpet in a Tracker Pro Team 17. Looking at the front deck it's screwed in place, but the manufacturer carpet covers those screws. I'm wondering how you'd go about gluing the carpet done without having to poke the screws through the carpet? Is that possible? I'm at a loss as to how you'd wrap the edges and all four sides and still get it screwed down.

I believe the screws are through the carpet. The head of the screw is below the pile on mine.

I'd highly advise you take a small chisel and create an X first, then either drill or screw the screws through that. Drilling the carpet directly may create a nasty run, pulling the fibers around the drill bit or screw. Seems you'd also want to silicone or put some sort of filler/epoxy/resin around the screw hole so the wood doesn't rot there due to moisture retention in a recessed area.

Someone in a different thread suggested putting 3M 5200 adhesive in the screw hole to prevent wood rot.
