Have any of you Bass Tracker guys removed your carpet all together?I have replaced all the wood in my 1995 Bass Tracker pro deep V-17.I have gelcoated all the wood, tops, bottoms and all edges,so I don't have to do this again.I don't think that I will be carpetting it again. All the wood was wet right under the carpet, even here in Arizona. So,wood and carpet don't mix,I think.

Re: Carpet or No Carpet

Hello
I would install carpet due to the fact if you go to sell your tracker you will receive greater value for the boat. Try to keep the tracker as original as you can. Personally I would not want to purchase a boat if it was not equipped with carpet. if you plan on never selling your boat then it would not matter because you are the one fishing on the boat.

Re: Carpet or No Carpet

I put carpet in my last restore and hated it. It was always dirty and a pain to clean (drop a big catfish on navy blue carpet one time and you'll see what I mean). In the boat I'm doing now, I intend to still use carpet for the side panels and the bow and stern casting decks but the main deck of the boat I'm going to use Durabak or a similar product.

Same here. The raised platforms up front and in the back are still carpeted, but the rest of the floor is a type of vinyl or something. Soooo much easier to clean up than the carpet that was in my old Pro Crappie.
