Carpet Question

I've got Vinyl flooring and I'm in the process of applying carpet on the sides of the boat. I've got about 2 inches of excess vinyl running up side walls, now my question is, how do I go about applying the carpet so it looks nice?

Simply leaving a straight edge, where the vinyl and floor meet, doesn't work for me...unless I add some sort of metallic siding.

Thanks!

Re: Carpet Question

Hello Unhip...

I would dry fit/tack as best and as tight as I possibly could.. then get that old trusty resporator and Glue it up. :)

Just have plenty of razor blades on ya.. carpet will eat them up..

Re: Carpet Question

I would be interested in knowing what kind of edge you end up using. I was thinking of using a removable carpet in my boat.

Re: Carpet Question

How about some type of hardwood quater round coated in Spar Var of Cetol and small brass wood screws into the deck to trim off the carpet to the deck?

Re: Carpet Question

I would take a walk through Home Depot and see what they have that would work.
