Does anyone know of a good boat carpet to use? I have heard of people using cheap outdoor carpet but what do you use for glue? Can I use staples on the edges? Has anyone carpeted their boat? Any tips would be appreciated.

Re: carpet replace

im sure others will say this also, but try to stay away from carpet....it holds water and will only aid in rotting process. I like The roll on bed liner, or even Marine Vynl. If you really want to use carpet i know alot of guys who are happy with the overtons brand. Also i have heard that some guys put snaps on the edges and just snap it down so you can take it off if it gets wet.

Re: carpet replace

Get a good 20oz marine carpet. Overton or Cabelas have good products. On the areas that you can wrap and staple use a outdoor carpet adhesive. It bonds so well that you'll have to use a grinder to get the carpet off. Areas that need a faster bond use contact cement. How is the decking?
