as with all deck carpet projects it's more than just ripping up the old carpet and laying in new. all seats and deck hardware mounted thru the carpet have to be removed alway remove old carpet, if you don't it becomes a mold and mildew farm. it also gives you opportunity to inspect the deck and repair any bad spots. then install in reverse order. glue it down, nothing worse than to trip over a buckle in the carpet an go overboard.
